Hi everyone, my name is Adrian and I like to collect physical things and create digital things. Those of you who like to create digital things too – or content creators if you will- have probably made videos at some point or another. And if that’s the case, you’ve also probably spent hours creating a video, only to realize your audio sounds terrible!
But that’s okay. We’ve all been there. If you figured it out, great, but if you haven’t, maybe I can help.
Any video creator worth their salt knows audio is just as important as video (or more if you ask me), so I created this blog miniseries for those of you who are already somewhat comfortable with video production but want to become more comfortable with audio or are terrified of it like some sort of giant radioactive monster.
I get it. Audio isn’t easy.
That being said, you don’t need to become an expert on everything audio to create solid sounding content - trust me, I'm still learning and I’ve been doing this for a while now. It’s just helpful to at least have an idea of what these concepts are right from the beginning. That way, you won't get lost or confused later on when you're recording and editing. To make things easier, I'll try to relate some of the concepts we’ll go over to video terms like frame rate and resolution, which really helped me when I started teaching myself audio.
Again, my goal is to give you an introduction that's just enough to get you started. I'm including links to other resources produced by people much smarter than meat the end of each post as well, for those of you who are interested in learning more.
